The mission of Helen Keller Elementary School is to establish and maintain an educational community that empowers all students to become principled, independent inquirers who are socially responsible global citizens.
The PYP Playlist is an introduction for parents and teachers who are new to the Primary Years Programme. It contains a wide range of e-learning resources to help everyone in your learning community develop a deeper understanding of the programme, and become more active in supporting student learning. Based on the principles of PD in the PYP, the PYP Playlist is a range of structured lessons ranging from three minutes to an hour, designed for you to dip in–and out–at a time convenient to you! Supporting resources are downloadable for you to share on your website and across your learning community. Select your area of interest and you will be guided through the rest.
Helen Keller Elementary is an authorized International Baccalaureate World School offering the Primary Years Program to all students. Thematic units of instruction weave together and connect information and ideas from all the traditional content areas providing opportunities for learners to construct meaning, principally through guided inquiry. In addition, this program promotes the development of students’ emotional, social, and physical needs. The Learner Profile, a set of characteristics nurtured in every student, is addressed throughout the school day by the entire staff. This enables children to develop sensitivity to the experiences of others and take socially responsible actions as a result of their learning experiences.
